What To Do With Your Tank
In the Mood for Food?
It's Not all Fun and Games

What do you do when you get the tank?

First you must keep the tank out of direct sunlight and you must use a U.V.B light and an electric heater. The tank should be 70-72 degrees. The terrapin’s water should be 78-80 degrees, and should have 1-3 tbs. of marine salt per 5 gallons of water. Add rocks or a place to breathe and sleep. Change filter twice a month and clean tank once a week.

In the Mood for Food?

Feed them terrapin food twice a week until they get older. Feed them fish like smelt, a silvery food fish, or feeder gold fish. You can also feed them Aquamax, Reptomin, or cooked shrimp twice a week. Get some cuttle fish bones and calcium blocks to sharpen the terrapins’ beaks.

Its Not all Fun and Games.

Be careful to treat your terrapins well. They could get shell rot called SCUD and then they have to go to the vet. When you hold the terrapins, pinch their sides like a hamburger. After you hold them, remember to wash your hands. Have fun and remember to handle your terrapins!
